Mar. 8th, 2007 @ 03:40 pm 3 o'clock sun
You know what I remember?

Sneaking out at 1:45pm on those lazy Fridays in a metallic blue sometimes a dull white Toyota Camry in spring. Then coming back to campus - arms full of Fantasia Green Milk Tea, or Grass Jelly, drinks in those recycled paper trays or those tall drinkable tomes of Jamba Juice in that cardboard carry box.

That 3 o'clock sun when the bells rang and all the students came streaming out from their classes refreshed at the blindingly bright spring sun coming at them. Standing in between the G and H buildings near the lockers with our drinks, that was the best time with the blinding 3 o'clock sun.

Chit-chatting, back-backcracking, sun-bathing in the 3 o'clock sun.

That's what I remember.

About this Entry
Jan. 14th, 2007 @ 05:29 pm it's really cold in sf at night.
mike and i took another trip around the city in the middle of the night on saturday.  it's a stark contrast to the oakland chinatown area.  where one is somewhat populated, even at midnight, the other is completely empty, save for one crazy lady talking to herself on a lonely street at a bus stop underneath a street lamp, with no one around in a 1000 foot radius.

here is a select set of photos that came from this expedition.

somebody prescribe me azthiromycin 250mg 6 pills.  i've got green expectorate - and i'm damn sure it's a precursor to bronchitis because i had the cold.

sucks to have to pay someone 180 bux to tell you to pay another 45 for antibiotics.

Dec. 5th, 2006 @ 08:11 am mm indian food.. well sorta.
so we're out celebrating ros's bday.  what an interesting time.  i've had about 4 hours of sleep after getting home from initiation and my friends go "hey let's celebrate by eating indian food!"  i'd have gotten better photos, but everybody was camera shy.  i was only able to get these two decent candids.  sorry to ros, ray, tim, and the food i didn't take photos of.

chantal is looking emo.

Dec. 1st, 2006 @ 10:55 am we all grow up..
that's what julius and my brother did.  both of them are now old and married.  it's kinda weird seeing people you've known since you were a tiny lil kid grow up and get married and have kids and families of their own.  in one way, it makes you feel old, in other ways, it makes you feel very very young.  looking back at children, you remember the times when you were a child yourself.

========================================================
with the prevalence of digital photography and videography, almost everybody is an instant photographer or videographer.  however, because of the prevalence of equipment, though it is easy to get the equipment in your hands, hardly anybody has the compositional skill to back it up.  even so, you still see some things that are interesting

case in point, the guy in the tan jacket, he's using a canon pro series digital camera with the lcd swiveled out to capture and compose a shot of some rose  petals.  i am telling you - if you were an slr photographer at a wedding, you would not even bother.  you're not going to stick out your ass while on all fours to take a shot of a rose petal.  this, however, guy did it in style.  plus he still has his 30D with an 85mm ready to capture portraits as they arise.

the main photographer and his assistant/son/relative/child labor?

About this Entry
Nov. 30th, 2006 @ 02:35 pm so now it's like october..
and of course tons of stuff happened as usual.  i'm not posting pictures of random stuff like usual or my life because nothing is happening, but at this point, just about my entire life has been turned into getting through pledging.  yeah i'll have, at the very least, an entire post dedicated to pledging later on, lol.

but i still have some images of my normal life - sorta.

glassware project at school, these are just test shots to see what colors will look like.

october is pretty bad, too, for photos, but i'm about to post some special event stuff so it won't be so bad for having a lack of photos.

before i get to julius' wedding here're some others - crepe vine, never heard of it, it's damn good though.  it's across the street from tart-to-tart - this is where we went after the morning ceremony.

my brother's been getting into some trouble lately - it's all cuz of her. lol
she really is a one of the family.  thankfully he(we) is(are) blessed with a wife(sister-in-law) with a sense of humor.

seriously - i hardly took any photos during that entire month for myself.  those few entries for bdays, tommy, and school, and hanging out was about it along with these.

PS- if you want to comment on photos from the last entry, leave them there.  if you want to comment on photos from this entry, come here.  next entry do that there.  if you refer to photos from previous or later entries in the wrong entry, i will kill you.

About this Entry
Nov. 30th, 2006 @ 11:46 am it's kinda funny..
Even thought I'm not pledging anymore, and I've crossed over as a brother.  I am still extremely busy.  They weren't kidding, once you cross over it's a million times harder.  It's a great challenge, and I'm glad it's there.  I'm slowly getting back into the grind of things, so that's my update.  For everybody's bday's I've missed in the past 3 months, and probably going to miss as well.  Yeah, I guess it's part of growing up and a shifting of priorities.  Situations change and we have to roll with it.  Sorry for not being there, I'll still always try my best.  Til then, I'll just continue on with my picture posts.

first day of school, my history of photography class.  walking past the art building where clubs and other organizations promote themselves, one of the new campus village towers at sjsu. (relatively new, been around for a year now)  and some dood trying to look cool with his guitar in his hands. lol. right on buddy.

hangin' with andre [seriously the only vietnamese dood with an unconventional name] and pals in late august.

playing with night photography again.

[drag and drop into another tab to see the larger photo]

the clark library is now the new campus center and foreign language department.  information and many of the services of the campus are run here now.  i even see shimazu sensei walking around with colleagues.  i wonder if he stopped swearing in class. lol

[there's only one stairwell and public entrance it gets awfully crowded in the morning. all the others are fire escapes.  though, the inside of the entire facility is a maze!]

[with these photos, and a few pages back, that ends what i've missed posting this past august.]

Nov. 11th, 2006 @ 06:40 pm About those monitors..
Current Mood: accomplished
..Thanks everybody that helped me out by offering monitors for pickup and other things. Sorry to A LOT of you whom I could not meet up with to pick up your monitors. For the past eight weeks I've been pledging for a fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and yeah, that was our fundraiser to make up money for all the administrative and non-administrative costs for our projects especially the Community Service Project we put together as well as directly donating money as well. We ended up raising over 200 dollars from monitors and other electronic waste. We also collected donations and other money and donated over 500 bucks to the Sunday Friends organization as well as sponsored and ran a pumpkin painting booth and helped with the entire community service project.

Check out some more of the photos from that event.

Remember, just because the community service event is over doesn't mean we stop giving.

Sunday Friends is still in need of volunteers and donations. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families and giving kids a place to hang out and have some fun when they normally would be unable to. So if you can, head over to their website and see how -you- can help individually or collectively! Also, all donations are tax-deductible, so instead of just plainly paying taxes, donate!
